Purpose of the Trip and Brief Itinerary *J15 camps primary focus is to prepare the J15 athletes for their first full summer of regatta racing, in a high-quality training camp venue with their teammates. The objective is to build on key skills, team building and enjoyment of the sport. The camp is a key steppingstone for the athletes in preparing for the higher intensity summer racing. The selection of the racing crews will not be the key focus, but the development of the athletes to achieve their full potential in the summer will be the primary focus.
The camp will also be the first overnight training camp which presents a number of new challenges for the athletes, which are key building blocks to success in the future. The camp is a 4-day camp (4 days water training) in South Wales (Llandegfedd), maximising the opportunities for each individual to develop as a rower. A primary goal is a cost-efficient, high quality training camp.
