Purpose of the Trip and Brief Itinerary*The purpose of the trip is for our students to immerse themselves in the sights, sound and smells of this incredible city. Students will visit some of the cultural highlights of Venice and the surrounding islands of Murano and Burano, taking in the faded glory of Baroque palaces and churches. It is a working trip and students will have plenty of opportunities to observe, record and draw on site, developing their trip sketchbook, and enhance their photography portfolio. Gallery visits to the Accademia, the Frari and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco to see works by Bellini, Veronese, Titian and Tintoretto as well as a visit to the Peggy Guggenheim collection to see more modern work by Picasso, Giacommetti and the Italian Futurists.
