Purpose of the Trip and Brief Itinerary*There can be no better representative of the Geography GCSE and A Level courses than Central America. With coasts, volcanoes, rain forests and more this trip will give students the opportunity to experience many of the environments covered in Physical Geography whilst also exploring the key concepts of economic development, globalisation and conservation that are studied in Human Geography.
Central America is a remarkable biodiversity hotspot, boasting a variety of unique and diverse ecosystems. From lush tropical forests and enchanting cloud forests to species-rich wetlands and vibrant coral reefs, this region offers opportunities to encounter some of the world's most iconic species. Howler monkeys, Hawksbill turtles, Resplendent quetzals, Jaguars, and Humpback whales are just a few examples of the captivating wildlife found here. For biologists, Central America is truly a paradise, offering opportunities to expand knowledge on a range of IGCSE and A Level topics, such as, natural selection and speciation, biodiversity, classification, sampling techniques, disease ecology, conflicts with human activities, conservation, and much more.
