Welcome to the Senior School Pastoral Hub.
As Deputy Head Pastoral I am keen to share with parents and guardians some of the daily pastoral work we are doing at King’s.
The hub aims to provide you with an understanding of why we deliver some of the material we do to your children, so that you can engage in conversations with them about it at home.
Pastoral care at King’s is so much more than being nice to our students; it is about putting your children at the heart of what we do. Our pastoral programme centres around creating a school-wide culture of mutual respect, and this hub will explain some of the proactive, creative and positive strategies we are using to promote this respect between all members of the school community.
This hub will share some of the short-term pastoral initiatives taking place. However, pastoral care is also long-term, and it feeds into our academic agenda. I will therefore use this hub to blog about the opportunities and situations we use at King’s to develop empathy, resilience and resourcefulness, and above all, the values and moral dimensions which will sustain an individual’s well being throughout their life.
We know being a teenager can be tricky so the blogs will stay within the hub for you to come back to time and time again.
